KIWIPIE
Profile:
A
favourite of HoriBOP (due to having the word Pie in his name), KiwiPie is
an outsider brought in to look after Tauranga as so many of the Mafia
have left over the years. Has BabyPie in tow, groomed to take over in
future years...

Stag Hunting – about as successful as Taniwha Taming
4th October 2004.
Never mind the quality, look at the points table. 10 points from
Northland and Southland and all we have to do is beat Harbour to
make the semis. We were hopeful 4 weeks ago that 6 wins would be
enough for a semis spot, but the dramatic decline of Otago and
Auckland has meant the other teams kept winning as well.

Taming the Taniwha
1st October
2004.
Well taming is maybe
too strong a word, we kept the Taniwha in its place. Just about!
They day
started way too early with me and the 2 Mini-Mafia on the road by 8
with a long drive up north. After meeting up with fellow Mafia at the
fine establishment of Wendy’s on Auckland’s North Shore, it was just a
2 hour dash to the terraces of Okara Park where we were joined by
HoriBOP, just in time as usual.

Hori BOP – Your Worst NightMayor
10th September 2004.
As
you may know, the Godfather of the BoP Mafia, the esteemed Hori BOP,

replace the council with the BoP Mafia so we are very very keen for
him to win. More
Reflections on the attack on Mooloo
27th August 2004.
The
BOP Mafia wishes to make it clear that they in no way condone the
unprovoked assault on “Mooloo”, (formerly a half man, half cow
mythical creature, now revealed as merely of human flesh), that took
place at Blue Chip Stadium on Sunday August 22. While we were
observed to chuckle just a little, or some might say more than a
little... more

Steamers cruelly denied spot in the semis

BoP crush Waikato in Hamilton
14th October 2004
What can I say about the Mafia day out in Hamilton? From the moment we arrived in the ground, we were treated to a feast of Bay rugby, forwards driving hard, sweeping back line moves and a Waikato side bewildered and ultimately defeated heavily. Oh how we shouted our approval and made such cutting and disparaging remarks to the Waikato fans. Unfortunately the development game ended...

Torture by Text Message
10th October 2004
We have all had times when we can’t watch a game live and have to rely on other ways of finding out the score. I was given permission from the BOP Mafia to miss the Auckland game to attend a cricket coaching course and I am very grateful to the Mafia for allowing me to attend (and I am sure my kneecaps will recover over time).

Welcome to the Family
11th September 2003
It was time to introduce a member of my family into THE FAMILY. Young BabyPie had reached an age where she needed to know real FAMILY values so I took her to the magnificent WBF Stadium (otherwise known as Luigi’s) to meet the Don and his henchmen (and women). After an obscure initiation ceremony which included some mumbled words from the Don (something about birthright and 1976) she was given the formal attire of the FAMILY and accepted by the group. Bizarrely for a supposedly secret society, her photo was then taken for a newspaper...
